Bridge terminology when moving assets onto Solana
Bridges are where vocabulary and custody meet. These definitions help you read transfer screens carefully.
Bridging assets to Solana introduces wrapped representations — SPL tokens backed by collateral held elsewhere. Wormhole's wETH on Solana is not identical to Ethereum-native ETH; redemption path matters. We insist learners read mint and burn directions on the bridge UI before approving.
Guardian networks and validator sets appear in Wormhole docs. Light client bridges use different trust assumptions. Our protocol sessions do not rank bridges; we explain whose keys must behave honestly for a transfer to settle.
